    1. The number is an index, so you can't interpret it literally, but it is a reference to the number of plays a team would run in a given amount of real time (not game time). It is calculated using a formula that considers the game run time, the time of possession, the number of incompletions, first downs, COPs, and out-of-bound plays, and the number of plays run. The details are a little messy because the data is not perfect (which is why I report it as an index). I know that's pretty vague answer, but if you have any specific questions I can try to answer them.
